That change is honestly something I appreciate.
Progression is the biggest part of an evolution and it growing out of the goofy, unstable aesthetics to something refined and soft helps build character for both Goomy/Sliggoo and with silly strengths and gives Goodra a strong parental/friendly role of looking after the other two.

No Pokemon is going to disappear forever due to having an evolution, so I can't find any reason - myself - to be upset by any changes made to Pokemon while evolving.

It's just that goomy and sliggoo were so unusual in terms of design. The fact they turn into yet another upright bottom heavy creature with cute anime eyes is disappointing. Non eof those traits are bad at all, its just sad that something so different ended as being something so expected. All I wanted was something like pic related.

I'm sorry, its just that I love goomy and sliggoo, they're some of my absolute favorites, so goodra is even more upsetting for me personally.

I can't force you to like it, but try the Japan method of treating each individual Pokemon on its own.
It may not work for everybody, but it is how I went from hating a fairly decent amount of Pokemon to not even being able to harbour negative feelings towards any Pokemon.
