>confusion doesn't make you hit yourself, but it makes your pokemon use a random move
How does this change the meta
>>32184727
Setups with downsides like Rest, Belly Drum, Shell Smash, Curse etc see a decrease in usage, and strategies involving Confusion also see a dip since this is actually a substantial nerf to the status condition itself
Other than these, nothing.
>>32184727
it's because of threads like these that i've come to realize the meta consists of pure bullshit strategies and it's 50% luck
no wonder faggots inject, this shit is already painful enough
>>32184805
Nerf?
It's a pretty decent check for the Choice Items in this scenario, don't think that's a nerf

>Setups with downsides like Rest, Belly Drum, Shell Smash, Curse etc
They won't as yourself implyed
>and strategies involving Confusion also see a dip since this is actually a substantial nerf to the status condition itself
Why someone should not use those moves if less people are using confusion

Normally you have a 50% chance of hitting yourself.
If nufusion made you select a random move every turn, until it wore off, you'd only have a 25% chance of using the move you wanted. That's not really a nerf. Yeah, your other moves MIGHT do something, but not being able to use the moves you want is a big deal. Nufusion is little better than sleep.

I like both of them but delete this
At least it kills Swagger
Choice Band Garchomp with only Outrage

>Normally you have a 50% chance of hitting yourself.
Well Gen 7 nerfed it to 33%.
>>32184727
>All the AOA mons get a 1% buff
>Choiced Outrage might be pretty good
>It might cause some trouble for Stall
>Gale Wings Chatot in AAA is less cancerous
Barely anything changes
>>32184916
Such fucking bullshit, there was no need
>>32184727
>I'm confused! Let me hit myself!
Even after 21 years it still sounds weird.
If they wanted to make an status that forces a Pokémon to hits itself it might then be called Amnesia (because it forgets temporally how to use a move without hitting itself)

Confused people hallucinate and injure themselves by fighting imagined attackers, tripping over obstacles only they can see, losing their balance by trying to climb out of bed or simply just because by feeling so out of it

It sounds more like a buff to prevent losing against fast Confuse Ray user in Battle Tree like Gengar (110 Speed) and that fucking Crobat (130 Speed).
