REMINDER: If you want a story in Pokemon, GO READ A FUCKING BOOK. There is no room for story in fucking Pokemon and every time it does one, it's garbage. Oh and please don't say Black and White's story was good. That shit sucked too.
"Oh, please stop forcing your Pokemon to battle..."
Challenges you to a fucking battle.

You're absolutely right about Pokemon being much better off without heavy story presence, but you also still talk like a fag, which is gonna make it real hard for people to take you seriously.
if you don't want a story in pokemon just stick to your smogon battle simulator.

Pokemon always had a story, Red and Blue weren't just wacky romps from point A to B.

What if it's a book about Pokemon?

>le ebin "if you want a story in [x] videogame read a book" meme
The difference between a book and a videogame (aside from music and visuals) is the interactivity and (usual) easier self-insertion.
Also, books are fucking boring. No music, no visuals, no nothing. Just letters and some random draws here and there.
I like the story in Pokémon because it was one of the first games I played. I have grow with the franchise and I like to see references to characters, events and basically just world building.
They have been getting better and better, and even if there are games with better stories like SMT, Mother 3 or Fallout, Pokémon makes me feel part of the world they have constructed.

Get out of here you damn Game Freak apologist. I bet you liked RSE's """"story"""". Dumb shill.

i was with you until that point. Just because you don't have an imagination doesn't mean books aren't good.

Books are good if they are used to study. Medicine, history, maths. Books with these and other academic themes are great, but read books for fun or the story...that's where I don't like them.
>>32169759
But they weren't as intrusive as the friends in XY, the mountain of dialogue of Ghethis telling you his dumb plan to rule the world, or Lillie's Bizzare Adventure that stopped you every 30 minutes of gameplay.

Except you haven't grown at all.

Give me one reason why there shouldn't be story in Pokemon. Without story, it's just the same fucking thing over and over again. You're doing the same battles, finding the same Pokemon, doing literally the same thing again and again and again. Story is literally the only thing that can keep it fresh.
Yes, BW had an extremely shit story, full of plotholes and focused on a character as bad as Ash. But it had a story. Regardless of how shit it was, the fact that it even had a story ranks it much higher than Generation I to IV, which didn't.

What is wrong with games with story?
Why does that trigger people so much?
Pic unrelated

I hate reading on a tablet. I prefer physical books any day.

I prefer it in other games. Pokemon has shown time and time again that they don't even know how to write. I would rather play Final Fantasy "LISTEN TO MY STORY" X than play through another shobby attempt of storytelling by Game Freak.
I can't read well because my eyes tend to move faster then I can read, and I constantly lose track of where I am. I sometimes have read sentences and paragraphs multiple times.

Have you tried audiobooks? I never used them because I prefer physical books but you probably should.
