Alola is so boring I'm actually getting nostalgic about

BW is my favorite game in the series, has my favorite visual style overall honestly.

Picking a true favorite is difficuly but if I had to my favorite location is dragonspiral tower. Everything about it is so cool. It's visually stunning, the layout is cool, and the theme is perfect.

I always thought the columns were a bit weird. But unova is good in the scope of the towns, like over 12 compared alolas like what? 5?

The thing about alola is that it is way too god ar getting that vacation island feel

Just like in real life when you are a tourist it feels amazing but when you get used to living in that place it gets boring

I also got bored of hoenn for that reason too

Thats why Sinnoh unova and even kanto when conbined with johto are better on the long run

How? Hoenn has all sorts of out of the way shit hidden around. Putting Hoenn on the same level as Alola in that regard is insulting.

Alola does have some good areas. My issue with Alola is that a lot of the routes felt samey despite the fact it was tropical. It wasn't until Poni Island that we got much variety. Poni Island's routes are the best designed too. Poni Meadow is a cute little area, where it's all nature with downed trees, and nothing has touched this place in years. I also love Poni Plains and with it's wide open space.

Town wise it's pretty weak though. I like Konikoni and Malie, but the rest are eh. Po Town is more like a dungeon than a town really, but it's one of the best parts of the game.

Unova has fantastic towns though. Castelia is awesome, while I love cosy little areas like Village Bridge and Iccirus City.

Gen 3 is great, though. It's just gen 4 that was a travesty. Funny you should say "unevolved" too, because gen 5 contributed the least of any generation in terms of gameplay.

I know you grew up with them, but the simple fact is that the DS games were a low point for the franchise, and the only reason they're so praised on this board is most posters are kids who grew up with Diamond and Pearl or later.

SM has shit battle themes outside of Lusamine, Guzma, Title Defense, E4. The ride music and default Festival Plaza music are outright grating.

I'm starting to feel like this but for XY since i didn't have a ds for BW..
Something about Alola just seems so stale already. I feel like they could have made the environment so much more interesting but the depth just isn't there. I guess it had a cool "new" feeling but it went away fast, for me at least.

Probably things like Victory Road and Terminus Cave, I guess. They're at least better than Mount Lanakila and Resolution Cave, though I don't know if they're better than Vast Poni Canyon. VPC was the best thing about Alolan landmarks.

On the subject of caves, I wish the Brooklet Hill and Wela Volcano Park ones hadn't been scrapped. Alola could have had a standing chance, which it can't thanks to Glittering Cave, Reflection Cave and Route 20 along with the aformentioned places.

What's the name of that place above Dendemille? It had the best night skies of Kalos apart from the League. It had a nice ice puzzle too, better than most of Alola's.
