Good news Pokebros! My Abra recently evolved into a Kadabra!!!
I was wondering about the best level to transform him into his final form Alakazam?
Have read that you need to trade him. How does that work exactly?

I haven't played Pokemon since the GBA-era and got a 3DS a few days ago so I'm not sure how to get my Alakazam without losing him. Never tried the online system or anything.

OP. Trademon work differently than stone evolutions. Alakazam and Kadabra learn relatively the same moves through level up with one exception being Kadabra getting Role Play when Alakazam gets Calm Mind. If you ever have a trademon evolve it immediately.

Any level is fine to evolve him, I always do it asap.
Trade and trade back with someone you trust.
There are other Pokémon that are better Tovar evolve in the future (most mons that evolve with stones) but in pretty sure every trade and trade with item Pokémon only get better after evolving.

just a suggestion: good site for trading is pokecommunity. 99% people there are extremely friendly and are happy to help out with trade evos for free.
I don't go on it much anymore because you can't have proper mature discussions outside of vidya, but it's great for discussion of pokemon.
