Going to avoid calling you a dubfag as the basis of my post and instead say that my personal favorite was XY but I've been rewatching DP recently and I'm REALLY enjoying it. They really handled the relationship between Ash and Dawn really well. That between Ash and Serena was cute and all but it got old quickly.

Why do people like the 4kids dub? Is it nostalgia? I never grew up with the anime, but whenever I watched dub, the 4kids one seemed a lot more cringier with its dialogue for me.

The music and writing were notably better under 4Kids than TPCi, on top of the acting, not even close- intros were also longer.

I think, if anything, people only like the TPCi dub out of nostalgia (which makes sense since a lot of dumb kids have now grown up with it).
