Why is it that Nidoran and Nidoqueen can't breed other than

Game freak fucked up while coding and is too scared to retcon their precious genwun Pokemon.

My guesses:

>initially in GSC, breeding a nidorina/nidoqueen caused some bugs because of the split gender mons, but nidoran was fine for some reason, and they just refused to address the issue

either way it casn't be intentional since all other media and even its dex entries talk about nidoqueen caring for its offspring

Technical game reasons.

When making GSC, Game Freak connected Nidoking, Nidorino, and Nidoran M to Nidoran F, but could'nt also connect Nidorina and Nidoqueen to Nidoran M, or else Nidoran M would've been able to breed all three Nidoran F stages when bred with Ditto (and viceversa), due to being connected with all three.
