I don't give a shit about it being easy, I give a shit about it being good, and considering many of the other things I liked as a kid are still having good entries today and there's other children's media I only got into as an adult that's good, and Pokemon hasn't been good in some time, I think it's pretty fair to complain.

Characters are generally not all that developed even if there's a bunch of autists spouting contrived "deepest lore" at constant intervals.

The games aren't very deep, and that's perfectly okay in some respects (particularly the story) because you're the one adding the depth, that's half of what makes the games good in the first place.
