In the game? Solgaleo is a box mascot legendary, which are always very powerful. It's very powerful and good for in-game use, but not as good in online special format battle.
Xerneas is also extremely powerful and is a staple of teams that allow legendaries to be used in competitive, plus the in game use of it has a really easy to exploit Moonblast you can spam.

Quick ball, soft reset is easiest.
You don't need your Masterball for anything unless your a pussy and cant catch the tapus.
I haven't used the masterball since HGSS, I was going to use it on either Rayquaza or Deoxys in ORAS, but I just used 2 ultra balls on Rayquaza and killed Deoxys so I could save before I battled it.
