Why does the AI just let you win sometimes? It'll just stop using super effective moves and do nve instead, or do status moves that won't work. And it always goes for stat reducing moves when a pokemon is about to, faint when an attack would be better (and it some cases give it the KO.)
I went to bed annoyed last night cause Elesa was stomping my ass, try it again this morning and suddenly she just does the wrong moves over and over. Does the game lower the AI's difficulty level if you lose? Even if that is the case, I didn't save after losing so it still should've been at default.
Why is the game so dumb and so blatantly obvious about it? Really kills any sense of accomplishment I would get from an otherwise difficult fight. Yes I know it's a kid's game and it has to be easy because kids are retarded or something, but does it have to straight up throw the match?

That's not surprising, her IA value is shit
It's 5, one the lowest...it should be something like 90.
>>32093860
Can you check the AI of Hau in the Aether place? When I went through, he just kept spamming Psychic, even though it was NVE. I had to KO his raichu, just so he'd be somewhat useful.
>>32093860
Have to wonder how they thought that moveset for Bewear was okay. You can completely wall it with any ghost type, and just heal your team up while the bear can only spam Pain Split
>>32093860
I really didn't notice because I had such a hard time with the clefable. Boom boom set but with moonblast wth
>>32093860
F, it's kinda in the same shit tier
>>32093916
Yeah, that's a shame for a battle like this...

This is starting to give me XY flashbacks
>>32093989
who has the highest AI value in the game not counting the battle tree?
what about the battle tree?
>>32093989
What about Kukui?
>>32093860
that's a neat program.
Where'd you find it?
>>32093860
>>32093989
Holy fuck why is this a thing
>>32093860
That explains dude pain split lmao
Also, check the AI for ultra beasts, I swear to god they were smarter than most trainers.
>>32093989
What is the program?
>>32094047
Pokemon is baby's first RPG, what do you expect?
>>32094061
its in the filename you dunce
>>32093780
AFAIK it always did that. I noticed it back when I was still playing Ruby. When your HP drops below certain % or when a Pokemon is at very low level (think HM salves) it will randomly start spamming non damaging moves if it has them. It's especially annoying if you want to sac something to heal up your other mons like I often do, but then the AI just flat out refuses to kill whatever shitmon you sent out.
Unfortunately most Nintendo games have some sort of a failsafe mechanism to let little Timmy win even if he completely sucks at the game (think Blue Shell in Mario Kart). I know it's probably a meme at this point, but if you want challenge, stay clear of Nintendo games.
>>32094062
Kids arent nearly as retarded as theyre given credit for.
>>32094101
>Unfortunately most Nintendo games have some sort of a failsafe mechanism
That's only really applicable to Pokemon really. Even the Blue Shell can be avoided if you have the right items or have the timing to pull off a mini turbo to avoid it.
I think the only game where it was absolutely unavoidable was MKDS and Wii.

>Unfortunately most Nintendo games have some sort of a failsafe mechanism to let little Timmy win even if he completely sucks at the game
That happens in most games though. Resident Evil 4 and the Ratchet and Clank games become easier the more you die, they are just subtle enough about it so you won't notice.

It's a meme not because it isn't true but because it applies to every genre under the sun.

87 (trial captain/kahuna/elite four/champion )
Strangely, every Title Defense battles are only on 7... even Kukui who was at 87.
For battle tree it's not possible to see it in the program, but since they have IV, items and all it's probably set at the highest by default.

Wait how does it work in Ratchet and Clank?
>>32094252
Enemy placement/quantity and crates change based on how well you do. If you die enough in Planet A, Planet B is going to have more Nanotech crates and less of something else. Ammunition also work in a dynamic way, usually giving you what you need/use the most, and Bolt crates are gonna have more bolts when you have few sso you can always buy ammunitions.
>>32094121
Wouldn't being able to avoid the Blue Shell by an argument FOR the failsafe statement? It let's little Timmy stay on 1st place.
>>32094641
Neither would be a failsafe then anon.
>>32094121
The Blue Shell can be dodged in Wii if you happen to be lucky enough to have a Mushroom in first place. Just use it right when it drops.
GOD.
FUCKING.
DAMN.
IT.
GAME.
FREAK.
>>32094121

Pokemon is aimed at children.
You'd have to be some sort of world class moron to lose to a story-based battle.
>>32094149
iirc 7 is max and then 87 is same difficulty but with AI for z-crystals
>>32093860
>some generic trainers have a higher AI value than Lusamine

No shit.
