I've always liked the atmosphere the original gold/silver had. Maybe it's just my memories, but it seems to evoke loneliness and nostalgia throughout the game.

I was already like 12 and played since gen I, but this is gold to me. Good memories, and i didn't even like Gen III.

Follow-up thought; Somehow this feeling was lost in the remakes. The somber sound was gone and made cheery somehow. I still love the remakes but they are like entirely different games to me.

I miss the loneliness vibe that Pokémon games used to have. It started to fade in gen 4 and gen 6 completely devoided it, gen 7 as well. It's not like I'm going in an adventure by my own anymore.
