>as of Gen VIII, there are 40 Ice types, (including Alola forms,) making up 5% of all pokémon. Ice types have now become the rarest type.
Global warming strikes again.
>>32050944
>There are over three times as many water type pokemon as ice type pokemon
>>32050944
>Gen VIII
>>32050944
Have they really?
Being an icefag is suffering.
>>32051028
Of course gen 8 doesnt add Ice types, the region is based off the Saharan desert
>5.36% of all pokemon are legends
>Ice types have now become the rarest type.
They already are?
>>32050944
>there are more legendaries than Ice types
>>32051327
No, it was tied with Dragon and Ghost in Gen I, and I think every gen after that it was always Ghost, except in Gen VI when it was Fairy. Now it's Ice.
Also I'm OP and I meant to say VII.
>>32050944
Lets hope that the eventual Sinnoh remakes bring with them ice type sinnohan forms. Also make ice resistant to ground ffs and make STAB ice beam more likely to freezer the target
>only 5% of pokemon total
>literally no resistances
>only good pokemons are mamoswine and weavile
Where were you when Ice was confirmed for most cucked type in history of pokemon?
>>32051505
A-Ninetales is good too.
>>32051505
what types do you think it should resist besides itself? i feel like it should resist water and maybe dragon or somethin idk
>>32051719
Water and ground. That's really all it needs.
>>32051761
Water should be SE against ice. When you put ice cubes in a glass of water, you know what happens? They melt.
>>32051867
When you spray water on snow, you know what happens? The water freezes.
>>32051867
Water doesn't need any help though, for the opposite reason why the easy potential resists for ice, grass and bug, should never happen.
>>32051761
I'd argue for flying resist while water just drops the overkill ice resist.
>>32051893
But the water melts away the snow first.
>>32051977
>>32051893
>>32051867
This is a poor arguement. The phase of water depends entirely on the temperature. The ice melts bc the water is not at 0C. The water freezes because the ice is at least or lower than 0C. If there is more ice than liquid then thr temperature of the environment is lower and the liquid will freeze. If there is more liquid the temperature is higher than 0C and the ice will melt. They should have normal effects on each other.
What WOULD be cool, is if ice became super effective against water during hail. We already kind of have a move like that with freeze-dry.
They know that giving an ice typing to any mon singlehandedly damns it to mediocrity, no matter its stats/movepool (see:avalugg). I'm assuming they don't want too many mons to suffer that fate
>>32051543
>A-ninetales is good
Maybe if you're under 1200, but almost anything can stop it before it can even set up its veil and hail is veritably the most trash weather in the whole game
>ice types are so shit that they're now endangered
LMAO
>>32052469
People don't use A-Ninetales for hail abuse, they use it for 1-turn dual screens. And STAB Freeze Dry allows it to check bulky waters. It isn't that bad unless you're using it as a sweeper.
My favourite type
We need a cold region next and to bump up the amount of Ice types in said region. Rather than having a warm region with barely any Ice types yet again.
>>32057536
Scandinavia region when?
>>32051397
>Fairy exists for one generation and already it's more common than Ice
I fucking hate fairy types, fucking OP mary sue gay faggot baby type girly bitch baby shit whoever thought they should exist instead of light types should be executed.
