Version Exclusives have always been a somewhat underplayed gimmick of the pokemon franchise. I've always particularly liked when each new game sets aside pairs of older pokemon to become new exclusives. What are some of your favorite exclusive pairs, and what are some pokemon you think would have made good pairs but weren't?

Fire Red really got jewed out of good water-types

I feel like Roserade and Florges are primed to be future exclusive parallels. And similarly Amoongus and Shiinotic.
Magnezone and Klingklang have always had that obvious parallel and would be an easy substitution. Bewear and Shuppet now seem like they'd be a neat pair.

Scrafty and Pangoro would make a god tier pair. Maybe there should also be a dex entry about them waging gang wars over territory.

I feel SM did exclusives pretty badly. Or, I felt so, until I found Lycanroc in Vast Poni Canyon
