Because people like it just like how people like other games like SM, Emerald, BW etc... It's call different tastes. Not necessarily a bad thing to have

Fixed A LOT from D/P but it's still held back by a lot of shit from the base games

nostalgia is another factor, the era between platinum (or emerald if you don't want to count diamond/pearl) to B2/W2 was a golden era and platinum (if you don't count emerald) kicked it off

Because when it's good, it's really fucking good. It's not my favourite, especially in how it takes a while to actually get good, but when it does, oh man.

the gold is the improvements/additions it made to D/P, the turd is the leftover garbage like slow gameplay and retarded HM usage. D/P is just flat out shit
