>Everyone questions why a fish evolves into an octopus or a woodpecker evolves into a toucan
>No one ever questions why a sloth evolves into an ape
>>31994738
Well they're both kinds of dogs so it's not as farfetched
There's more similarities between sloths than apes than fish and octopi though.
>>31994738
Slaking is still a sloth with gorilla features
>>31994796
What are the sloth features of Slaking besides being lazy?
>>31994803
The neck hair and nose
To be fair, all the evolutionary stages look like three people were told to make a completely different sloth Pokémon.
>>31994738
Pokémon lines evolving from one mammal/bird/fish/reptile/etc. to another always happens.
Nobody ever batted an eye to a pidgeon evolving into a pheasant.
This whole "woodpecker into toucan is bad" thing makes no sense.

toplel

Why does a sperm cell become an eel
>>31994738
I think Slaking is based on an extinct Ground Sloth
>>31994738
well in this case, the line becomes less sloth like and more ape like. It doesn't make sense to us, but in universe it's relatively natural. Although Octillery and Toucannon are pretty much out of left field.
>well its fine that a gun turns into a cannon, they're both weapons, its perfectly fine.
>WHAT THE FUCK, WHY DOES A LAMP TURN IN A CHANDELIER, MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE
fuck you too /vp/

Octillery is not a random change you ass cannon. Remora fish have modified dorsal fins that act as suction cups. It's why remoraid was shown on mantine wings, remora use their suction to attach to larger sea life.

>Eelektross is an eel
Have you seen a lamprey before?
Slaking is based on a giant sloth. They existed in prehistoric times. It's like it evolves backwards in Pokémon, like a chicken evolving into a dinosaur
>>31995993
>Slaking is actually Primal-Vigoroth
>>31994816
>Hey Ted, Bill drew Slakoth. I need your evo for it.
>Hey Susan, Ted drew Vigoroth. Yes that's the first stage. Yes it looks like too much lika a middle evo, I told him that too. Anyway, I need you to draw what it evolves into.
>>31994816
I wonder if people realize that it's not always the same person that works on a Pokemon's evolution line.
