Why do people hate Vanilluxe so much? It's such a common

Pokémon has a large fanbase and gets a lot of attention from non-fans. Those among the bunch who laugh at Vanilluxe and similar pokémon aren't the most accepting individuals, nor are they the most intelligent....they're just the loudest.

They see ice cream monster and they laugh and act condescending to you, and they'll somehow think that one bad design among a hundred justifies shitting on an entire franchise. Then they'll go away and then never think about it again.

They don't know and probably don't care that it isn't LITERALLY ice cream, and they're not going take your defensive arguments seriously, because they have already decided to be an asshole beforehand.

OP mentioned it because there's a double standard. People use Vanilluxe and literal garbage to shit on gen 5 all the time while gen 1 gets a pass (unless there's an argument being had) all the time because it's gen 1.

I view Vanilluxe as simply a manifestation/representation of snowstorms and the cold. It's like Weezing, which sort of represents air pollution in general. The fact that it's shaped like ice cream is inconsequensial and doesn't bother me.

On that note I'm SUPER FUCKING STOKED it got Snow Warning, because its dex basically amounts to "it makes a bunch of snow," and I've been saying Snow Warning would be perfect on it for years.

I'd argue gen 1 has way more uninspired designs than 5 (or pretty much any other gen) but you can't take genwunners seriously with their claims, they're blinded by nostalgia. They'll find any stupid reason to criticize post gen 1/2.

I hate it because it barely changes as it evolves(a problem I also have with the Klinklang evolution line.) Voltorb and Electrode were lazy, but this is just rock bottom.

I actually like its design, even more than some Pokémon that are "creative". Of course, it all comes down to personal taste, so I kinda understand why it's often called a lazy design.

Correction: SLOW pure ice type. I'd forgive the pure ice typing if it had the speed to match its 110 special attack, but instead it has 79 speed. The only thing Vanilluxe needs is for its attack and speed to be swapped.
