Yeah, that was also something that I was considering. But a hardware revision has got to be what, two years away at best? It's going to be a long time until this "beta" period is over. If, two or three years down the road, they release a new version that's much better, I'd probably be fine with buying it again. It'd be irritating if it was six months from now, but I think it'll be longer than that before they release anything different than the launch version.

The main reason I don't see the Switch taking off as a handheld is because it just doesn't feel very portable to me. I played Zelda for a few hours yesterday, and if you connect the controllers to the screen you're basically holding a brick that's as wide as typical tablets. I played BotW yesterday and it looked fine, no framerate issues at all.

Graphics and hardware limitations are really never the issue with Zelda games. Skyward Sword's issues were not due to the hardware but due to the unfortunate world design, for instance, the repeat boss battles, and a few similar things (although I still found it a good game, better than Twilight Princess).

Twillight Princess was a Gamecube game that was ported to the Wii. It looked and worked fine, even when compared to other Wii games.

Wind Waker was one of the best-looking games on the Gamecube.

And OoT and MM (which looked about the same graphics-wise) were the first 3D Zelda games, and I hardly ever hear people complain about hardware issues there.

So, tell me, which Zelda game was ruined by awful hardware?

Not at all. I love my Switch. Great complement to a PS4, Wii U and a 3DS.

It actually baffles me how many people think the 3DS is a good console. Sure, it had some good games, but the hardware was dated even at the time of its release. Every game looked like dogshit because the console had a lower resolution than the fucking PSP. And the circlepad was incredibly slippery, making it very awkward for games that use it extensively. While the Switch is underpowered compared to other hone consoles, at least it's got hardware that's up to today's handheld standards and the resolution doesn't make every game an eyesore. The only real issue with the Switch is the price, but I could see Nintendo making a stripped-down handheld-only version of the Switch that can only play certain games in a year or so.

Feels odd at first, but after a little bit feels great. The joy cons slid out of my switch a little twice, but after a firm push it locked in.
I only experience the desync once. It only lasted a minute, so I paused my game and it went back to normal. Haven't experienced it since.
Surprisingly yes. The grip things they give along with it make it feel great. Though it is very odd at first and takes some time to get used to.
One thing I disliked was that there was no warning of the lock on the switch grip things. I pulled at it a bit before noticing it. But besides that everything was fine.
