in grade school I was arguing with my chinese friend about his name, he insisted that it was Parasex because of the weird way it pronounces its name. I knew it was Parasect so I loudly exclaimed "it's paraSECT not paraSEX!" and this young asian teacher was behind us heard and was like "hey you kids, don't be talking about that!"

If you play doubles it's actually pretty damn useful. Anger powder, giga drain/leech life, spore (I think it gets that?) and protect. The set is probably pretty far off, I haven't used one since 2012

He means in evolving. Parasect is taken over entirely by the parasitic mushroom. Hence the white eyes to give it a zombie like quality.

Ability should be called spongy, acts like fur coat for squishy 'mons like parasect. I think that would be enough to boost it's usage but no matter what that typing makes it vulnerable.

I feel the same, it's kind of sad knowing that when you evolve paras you'r basically killing it. One thing I always wanted was a way to evolve paras but separate the bug and mushroom into two separate pokemon, kind of like ninjask and shedinja.

Does anyone ever think about the fact that technically speaking the mushroom is it's own pokemon in a way? We have a pokemon that's just a giant parasitic mushroom.

Nah, It would be alive and well without the mushroom. I imagine it would be pure bug or maybe bug/ground possibly.

Another idea is an evolution or even mega where the mush has just completely consumed parasect and little to nothing of the bug remains. That could work as grass/ghost. Maybe even just the lone mushroom as mushroom as grass/ghost since without the bug it died.

Oh, I was thinking more like, the ghost/bug would be of the Paras that died during the transition to Parasect. So the ghost would be the spirit of the paras, which of course, wouldnt have any mushrooms on it.
