I see showdown has added a new format for the Kanto x Alola tournment. So I tried to make a team with my dual screen Zapdos and got the following. Is this confirmed? So we can't use the mons transfered from gen one? I thought that was the fucking point of all this.
"Your team was rejected for the following reasons:
- This format requires Pokemon from gen 6 or later and Zapdos is from gen 1 because it has a move only available from Gen 1 Virtual Console transfer."

Well, the exact rules haven't been announced for the KvA competition, but every Gen 7 competition thus far has required that your pokemon be either caught or bred in Alola
Theoretically, you could still use pokemon who are native to kanto who don't appear in the Alola dex (Nidoking, for example), as long as you can breed a new one in your Gen 7 game. So, Birds are probably out.
I guess it's possible they'll change the rules for KvA, at least to allow pokemon from the Virtual Console games, but we'll just have to see.

This rule was removed from this competition specifically, was it not?
