Personally, I think GF should've stuck with sprites.

Jokes aside, Gen 5 sprites were really good. I'd have loved to see them build on them further. I would much rather have excellent sprites than decent 3D models that slow the game to a crawl.

I do like how now we get more natural looking terrain, with slopes and not grid based, but in terms of the aesthetics over the gameplay the sprites of HG/SS and B/W will always be the comfiest
