It's fine if they do it for some of the Pokemon. Variety is cool, but you can notice that the later gens have a lot more cute eyes. I would say especially the last two gens.

It's still not too bad, I can handle it even though I prefer more of the edgy stuff, but I'm afraid that the newer Gens will go even more towards that direction and sooner or later we'll have no edgemons or normal mons, but a dex filled with cute pink blobs.

IV's and PP add nothing do the game. Only in select few instances you want non full IV's or run out of PP. These mechanics don't create enough gameplay decisions to justify inclusion.

This is the biggest annoyance with GameFreak. I get that they do it to make each game more "unique" compared to others, but it makes it feel like each game is regressing. I really think that Gen V was the peak of the series.

I hate exp.share when it's not used to grind PvP mons or fill the dex, but it kinda is a difficulty setter in an asshat way where the game is still easy when turned off.

And also the fact that 7 is using 5's EXP system, but whatever.

It took until gen 7 to give support to a bunch of gimmicks.
Hail has always been the worst weather, only now did it get some actual tools.
They put terrain in gen 6 but gave it nothing.
Breeding is finally reasonable without a save editor/viewer or pokecheck, and ball and ability inheritance finally makes sense. Kind of.

Fairy type is so outrageously anti-meta with no cohesion it's insanity inducing. Like we all feared, now that there's a brace of fairy legends, they've taken over the place.
This is compounded by terrain being double weather, and psychic terrain being so busted. It's a good thing misty terrain doesn't boost fairy moves and that grass moves are so fucked by the meta. Electric terrain is the only one that's somewhat balanced, and that's only because it's "primary" effect is so narrow.

Too many tutorials nowadays, and the pace is constantly slowed down by "rivals". After 20 years, you think GF knows that everyone knows how to catch a Pokemon, but the tutorials get longer over the years.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one.

There are times that I wished that they wouldn't reveal more than half of the overall game.

The best thing about gaming, in my personal opinion, is finding out something new around every corner.

Imagine how we'd react to the Tapus or Ultra Beasts if we played the game for ourselves without even knowing what they are initially.
