Moon's great. Assuming you didn't play it already, play Platinum. Fixed all of DP's flaws. BW and BW2 are also great games imo. skip XY and ORAS, unless you liked RS

I hated R/S but loved OR/AS

I wouldn't recommend shilling any money out for S&M. Get a CFW, and play it for free. If that isn't an option, wait until whatever the next 3DS game is. Hopefully it won't be low quality/rushed like S&M was

Moon has better competitive Pokemon if you want to get into that, so do that one.
Otherwise get whatever you like better on the cover.
