Getting rid of IVs though, why not? They are the reason a lot of people (the majority) shy away from battling online. They know they stand zero chance against those who spend their free time injecting or breeding.
Mario Kart also suffers from quickly deteriorating online game. It's probably why video games will always stay "niche". Either spend a lot of time to get good or stay away from online.

But shit, couldn't you have said that for the 3D overhaul or many of the other features in Gen6+? There's a lot of wasted time put into those models already for features that didn't even make it into the game.
