I'm honestly convinced it is. There has been many times where I know a piece of fan art is from Tumblr just because it had that "Tumblr style" that every piece of artwork on Tumblr has.

It developed a collective artstyle that every artist is affected by, some more than others, who uses Tumblr as their primary art site. They see those similar artstyle in most of the drawings, get used to it, and intentionally or subliminally apply it to their own style.
How something like that could have happened is beyond me. I haven't seen this anywhere but Tumblr.
