Sequel to Colosseum/XD
Starter is Zygarde Doggo.
Rival starts out friendly, but slowly becomes more depressed at his/her inability to win, leading to using Shadow Pokémon and eventually becomming an official member of Cipher.
Every purification gives you a Zygarde cell.
At 100, you unlock Zygardium Z, which turns Core Enforcer into a buff to automatically give Zygarde 100%.
Instead of Mt Battle, there is "The Trial of Champions." It's nearly identical, but all the trainers are from past games, culminating in the final battle against Great God of All Mirror B.
Beating Mirror B unlocks a battle against the Demi-Fiend just because.

Sun/Moon except the plot revolves around getting Necrozma.

Ultra Beasts besides Nihilego attack during your Trials as sort of boss battles. Can't be captured but for different reasons. It's all "Monster of the Day" type attacks too.

Nebby seemingly dies but there's a Temple of the Stars located on an uncharted island said to be the literal center of the Pokemon World. The catch? You have to get there through Poké Pelago.

Gladion decides to escort you to said island as well, curious about the Temple but also to protect Lillie from any possible Beast Attacks.

Lillie and Gladion meet Mohn. Mohn can't get his memories back though, so a bit of laser guided drama.

Temple of the Stars is a sacred place believed to hold the "memory" of any Legendary Pokemon's power to aid a wish in a trainer's heart. In this case, Xerneas' power of life will be recalled to restore Nebby.

Nebby warp evolves from Cosmog to Necrozma

Gladion resolves to stay behind while Lillie and the trainer go to Ultra Space, unspoken reasons but likely to help out/protect his dad.

Lusamine has 2 battles. One with the normal team. Lillie tries to reason they can come back, even noting they found Mohn. Lusamine however is too far off the deep end and calls Lillie a liar. She vanishes into another section of Ultra Space, Guzma heals your Pokemon and decides to stick by with Necrozma, waiting for you to return. Mother Beast Lusamine is found in the other section, with a full team of all the Ultra Beasts you faced within your Trials (which explains why you couldn't catch them outside Aether), defeating her in battle yields a cutscene where she chases you both, reaching Necrozma who forcefully separates her from Nihilego.

Lusamine's mostly conscious enough to exit back to the Pelago with you both. Weakened but less than S/M

We get to see a reunion for a bit. Lillie still goes to Kanto, while Mohn resolves to keep Pelago running, etc., Things get better.

As much as I want to see my waifu Lillie return, it'd be weird if we played as a different character (which GF has never done). I hope that she's in it either way though.

Lillie is a fucking terrible character and I hope that Game Freak forgets about her just like they forget about pretty much every character that isn't Red, Professor Oak or Cynthia. Her entire character development was just her running across a bridge, which goes to show how fucking useless she is.

well if we're going kanto, how about a feud between the three legendaries birds, a la pokemon 2000 gets out of hand, and the only way to end the feud which threatens the safety of kanto s to capture the three birds, or somehow prevent them from fighting. You can't just faint them, kind of like how you're forced to catch the dragon in black/white. After the first two are captured the last one, pissed that you interfered and it can't defeat the other two, comes after you.
