The next 2 months were AGONIZING. Speculations and false claims were flying everywhere, and things in general were getting crazy. Corocoro told us to wait for their next issue, and a few Pokemon names appeared the same way the titles were.

And then the biggest trailer dropped a massive bomb on everyone, showing off Alola Forms, new Pokemon, the Island Challenge, Trial Captains, Kahunas, Totem Pokemon, and Z-Moves.

I had work and college and things were really hard at that time, but I was trying to follow every SM news and I was glad that at least in the end of the year I would have fun resting and playing pokémon.

I did, but it didn't last long. I wish SM had more to do.

XY was a blast for me. Made so many friends through XY and didn't put it down for 5 months. Couldn't do the same with Sun and Moon though, and I'm trying.

See, I feel like the context surrounding the starter leaks is way too important to an understanding of the Sun/Moon release cycle on /vp/.

The starter leaks came after the Ballio fakes were posted, and the board went nuts. Everyone was a denialfag to everyone else, and it was constant arguing over "Ballio vs. Luchalitten."

And then this happened. The Mallow reveal had made the starter leak plausible, but it was still fairly circumstantial. While I had been pretty sure that the leaks were real all along, I wasn't going to blame anyone for not being convinced. Once we saw the second stages, however, it was all too clear that the leaks were real.

The effects of the Ballio shitstorm can still be seen in the starter wars that rage against the "nu-male owl," "barabait tiger," and "tranny seal." A lot of those terms were first thrown around as insults against the leaks before they were confirmed. The anger directed at particular starter evolutions seems to be rooted in people having grown too attached to fake leaks before they knew whether or not they were real.

And thanks to the Chinese still being a thing. Spasifacly the in incineroar one. A particular theory has bin made for the sun and moon anime. And that theory is called the royal ththeory. Baragfags claim that ash will catch that litten, but owlfags tare down there hopes with the royal theory. And i believe that's were we're at right now.
