In fact, the game is set in Kanto and you're Red (no girl option), your rival is Blue and the professor is Oak. Only the first 150 are available at all and you cannot transfer until after beating the game. Bag space is limited to 99 copies each for 20 different items, the rest must be stored in the PC. You must save before and after interacting at all with any box. There are now gates at every corner surrounding all patches of tall grass. There's no minigames or game corners. Teachy TV is back from FRLG and is always unskippable. TMs are one use only and you cannot get more of any. There are still no HMs. Of course, there's no customization, but there's Refresh. Cynthia and Looker cameo for no reason. There's also only the basic 4 pokeballs, no breeding, no clock and no friendship. Safari Zone is closed because safaris are bad now.
