I haven't played Pokemon since gen I. I want to play some of the sequels on my phone (Android OS). What's the best way to do so? Which game should I start with?
play HG/SS, then come back
Emerald, Platnium, HGSS, and BW/BW2 are pretty universally considered to be the best pokemon games, so i'd play those. Emerald hasn't ageed quite as well as the others due to worse visuals and a lack of a physical special split for typings/moves (In gens 1-3, all attacks of a typing either use your special attack or attack stat, vs after then when it's on a per move basis, IE fire punch, despite being fire, will be physicla attack based since it's a punching move), which adds a lot more strategy and pokemon viability.
Gen 6 is pretty shat on for it's causlaization and dropping of features from gen 4 and 5 but they are so polished and have so many quality of life improvements I still recommend them as well, though ORAS is pretty much trading emerald's extra content for more polish/quality of life stuff/3d models. Since they are somewhat casualized they might be a better restart point as well.
What's the emulator of choice?

Play in this order:
Fire Red->Emerald->Platinum-Heart Gold->Black->Black2

Fuck off, your kind aren't welcome here.

This but put Crystal before Firered.

Drastic is the only acceptable choice
In release order
Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, BW, B2W2, XY, SM

Whoops, forgot about it, too. Might not care when playing HGSS anyway though
FRLG -> HGSS -> Emerald -> Platnium -> BW -> BW2
If you want to go further skip XY and ORAS and just go to SM.
As for spinoffs RB Rescue Team and Explorers of Sky are extremely good and you should definitely play them. Heard good things about Conquest but I've never played it.

Sorry, I mean what's the best ROM or whatever to plug into the emulator.
Last time I emulated a game it was on PC in like 2008.
