Why the fuck would you want 500+ in a single game? It'd kill any cohesiveness or identity to the region and the new Pokemon would be even harder to find and more drowned out by old Pokemon. XY having 450 Pokemon was awful. 250 to 300 is the perfect amount for the regional dex of a single game. It's not like you need SM to catch em all, go play the earlier games.
