Normal now gets it's first resistance, fairy

Normal is also super effective against fairy

There, balanced

Finally a reason for all these damn normal type moves every pokemon learns too
>>
sounds shit as someone whose favorite type is normal
>>
>>31755680
yea so you want fairy to never be used again because everysingle pokemon ever can deal x2 to them, no
>>
>>31755680
>252+ Atk Adaptability Snorlax Return vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 228-270 (57.8 - 68.5%)
The Adaptability bonus is the same as the super effective bonus, so this is what a super effective Normal move would look like.

Everyone and their grandma now has Earthquake AND Return.

M-Kangaskhan becomes #1 most used pokémon
>>
>>31755819
That is, implying, it is not already
>>
That doesn’t make any sense.

Something that could work is normal moves becoming stronger than equivalent moves of other types, a 30% or a 50%. Is the same concept behind Sheer Force, instead of doing fancy stuff, they have more raw power.

That way, Normal would be useful as the best type to hit things neutrally.

>252+ Atk Adaptability Snorlax Chip Away vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 158-186 (40.1 - 47.2%)
>252+ Atk Snorlax Smart Strike vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 158-186 (40.1 - 47.2%)

Fuck off
>>
>>31755680
Chansey is now a fairy type

How much healthier is the meta?
>>
>>31755835
Supereffective STAB =/= Supereffective nonSTAB
>>
>>31755849
What does that have to do with anything? I was just showing what a 2x Normal type move would look like since Adaptability is the same as Super effective non-STAB
>>
>>31755835
It's not the same as adapability because it would be 2x damage from super effective plus 1.5 damage from STAB

Adaptability would just be 2x damage as STAB

If normal was super effective against fairy, and you used Snorlax it would be 2.0x from SE plus 1.5x from stab

Adapatability only increases stab to 2.0x, not adding 2.0x plus the base 1.5x.
>>
>>31755844
Incredibly worse
>>
>>31755868
See>>31755862
>>
>>31755885
But that would only apply if you didn't choose Snorlax, who would get STAB in addition to the super effectiveness

You used Snorlax as an example, so it would be 3x damage not 2x

The output would look like this instead:
252+ Atk Snorlax Return vs. 252 HP / 64 Def Clefable: 387-456 (98.2 - 115.7%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
>>
>>31755885
Yeah I agree with >>31755901
on this one

You are just being stupid, why even choose snorlax as an example? He doesn't have all that great of an attack stat
>>
>>31755915
Let's try this instead
252 Atk Adaptability Excadrill Drill Run vs. 252 HP / 64 Def Clefable: 214-254 (54.3 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Excadrill Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 64 Def Clefable: 320-380 (81.2 - 96.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

>>31755901
But I didn't calculate a super effective hit. I calculated a move at 2x BP (which is Adaptability boost on a normal effective move, or Super effective boost on non-STAB) to show what a Super effective Normal hit would look like from one of the best Normal attacks on an over 100 Atk mon.

Again, this was just to show what 2x effectiveness would look like, since (again, for the last time) Adaptability normal effectiveness = Super effective non-STAB.

>>31755945
>252 Atk Adaptability Excadrill Drill Run vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 190-224 (48.2 - 56.8%)
>252 Atk Excadrill Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 172 Def Clefable: 190-224 (48.2 - 56.8%)

Would you look at that.

Really activates the old almond.
>>
>>31755966
Then why not just test it at +2 instead of testing super effectiveness in such a roundabout way?
+2 252 Atk Garchomp Return vs. 252 HP / 64 Def Clefable: 265-312 (67.2 - 79.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
>>
>>31756045
It was the first thought in my head to measure it. I don't use Showdown that much.
>>
>fairy is now defensively weak to dark, but still offensively strong to dark

This is better.
>>
Here's a fun idea, get rid of normal everything because normal is boring
