My Journey continues...

So far, I managed to beat Fantina and still no deaths the whole run. I cannot stress how hard I'm grinding to make sure I can blow through most opposition. It was not a cake walk, she had everyone on the ropes, but Kingston clutched the win.

This isn't good. No nuzlocke I've ever done has gone this well. I'm building up towards a fall.

Anyways, I lucked out with catching a Ralts, so I'll be training it for the battle at Veilstone. If everything goes as planned, she'll sweep the whole thing, barring Meditites and Medichams.

Every area should Have at least 1 or 2 new pokemon to catch. Also maybe put pokemon that game freak normally would leave till late game earlier on like ice types for example. Optimally, I'd like to have a chance of catching one of almost every type of pokemon within the first 3-4 gyms.

Mons where it makes sense for mons to be (rodents and more object-like pokemon near cities, rarer pokemon in areas which would be harder for people to usually go and not just up to RNG chance, etcetera). To complement this point, i will use an example that i find really interesting but sadly, an exception in pokemon: how that one pond in Celadon instead of having the usual group of water pokemon, have only grimers because it represents how Team Rocket is polluting it without giving two shits about it. If i ever did a hack, every major town in the continent would have muk/grimer, trubbish/garbodor and vullaby/mandibuzz around in some way.

I've got more than 5 pokes, but these ones are my bros. I tried editing 1337 the Porygon into a Porygon-Z after reaching the level cap I set for it, but it didn't work, so now I'm just gonna work with what I have.

wew, what a session. Stara got destroyed by a crit double slap right after Azalea Town, then on that route I captured Piper the Rattata, who died to a Doduo's fury attack.

In Union Cave I captured Don the Phanphy, I did some grinding and got every to around level 18 (Ava evolved). I then liberated slowpoke well from team rocket, essentially Mackenzie swept em, and fought my rival right after. Interestingly, he had a Dratini which G nigga dealt with swiftly.

I then went after the Hive badge and man, that was horrible. G nigga was able to defeat Butterfree but scyther was too much for him and critted. then I sent out Sanguina to supersonic it, she wasn't critted but she still got one shotted. When the Scyther was almost defeated it decided to crit once again and kill Ava, Mackenzie finished it off and thanks to poison powder and confusion defeated Bugsy's Beedrill.

I'm now in Ilex forest where a tackle crit from Don prevented my capture of a venonat.

Oh, it's obvious but I forgot to mention on route 33 I captured Nippers, the new Rattata. I also thought that Ledian was bug/fighting and that gave me hope for Whitney, but I was wrong.

Okay, I just beat the Elite Four in my Sun Nuzlocke, and Kukui killed almost all my team. I only beat him by the skin of my teeth. And most of those guys had been with me since the beginning. I just don't feel like playing anymore.

And the worst part is that the ending was like 30 minutes long. The whole time I'm like "I have dead Pokemon! Let me put them to rest!".

in order of importance:
1. variety between nearby areas (have different pokemon on route 1, route 22, route 2, viridian forest, etc)
2. multiple pokemon of all types available
3. don't make any pokemon have less than 10% encounter rate because that's just annoying

So like each route should have a ~5 variety chance, and each should be closer in chance so nuzlockes can actually utilize them.

I also have a soft spot for heightened shiny rate, because I play shiny clause which allows the catching of a shiny even if its not first route encounter.

So my ideal game is like 1/250 shiny chance with each route like 5 pokemon chance broken down to 25/25/20/20/10 percent, respectively

Having a glaring weakness to rock also means not having too many offensive actions against the type either. 1 normal type, 3 part flying type. 1 poison and bug type. Between all their moves at the time, only 5 moves can inflict damage on rock, 2 being supersonic and poison powder.

Confusion, poison powder, supersonic and bite are also on the part flying types and in a blind run of a romhack you never know what's in store for you.

Damn. I tried so hard and got so far. But in the end, it didn't even matter. My based Gastrodon got crit'd by a Razor Leaf. I never used to like the thing, but after this run, I have newfound respect for it. It pulled my ass out of the fire so many times. Plus, it's actually pretty cute.

bad news is everyone else is gone and in my shock and grief (after screenshotting) I shut down the game when I meant to minimize, and I'm pretty sure I haven't saved since I was grinding before Crasher Wake's gym battle.

Should I nuzlocke the perfection that is Vanilla Platinum, or should I try out Sun?

If I do Sun I'll have to rush and get all the Ultra Beasts and whatever Legendary there is to catch so I don't let them go to waste.

Well, me and another person are doing Platinum. So it'd be fun if someone else joined in, although you'd be about 4 badges behind us.

Sun is more robust, though. Depends on whether you'll miss the new Pokemon and features.

SM definitely should be at least alongside HGSS, if only because the totem Pokemon tend to have curve-balls up their sleeves.

As for Gen 6....I personally had few to no troubles with Y or OR. Some deaths here and there, but nothing difficult otherwise. Rank all four Gen 6 games to around the original RSE games?
