Do you ever have those turns where you just want to give up on pokemon forever?
>>31703293
Nope, only you.
>>31703293
Yes but your pic is not an example at all. C'mon man, using a physical attack on Toxapex?
>>31703293
Boy that better have been a Mega Absol.
>>31703293
Every turn after gen 4 is like that.
Gen 4 ruined competitive pokemon forever.
>Knock Off
>Knock Off again
Did you think it would have a second item in hiding or something? Nice job retard.
>>31703293
>Toxapex has Ass. Vest
>knows Baneful Bunker
wut
>>31703504
That's the joke.
>>31703504
Dude, imagine how horrifying this would be irl.
>>31703504
In case you get knocked off which is inevitable
>"No way this retard will sack this mon that kills my team"
>-use u-turn-
>HE STAYS IN
>proceeds to win because he's a fucking dipshit
>says I "over-predicted"
Every. Fucking. Time. With these. Fuckwads.
>>31703562
Kek, you got played kid. Stay seething.
>>31703504
It was being used to seal its immeasurable power, which was then released upon it being broken.
>>31703562
>I lost because my opponent is an idiot
>>31703562
I know exactly the type of player you are.
You think you made the right move because you aren't thinking about the battle the right way, and when you make a fool of yourself with a shit move you start sperging out in the battle chat about how your opponent is a shit player.
I see scrubs like you all the time in mid-ladder, it really is pathetic.
>>31703804
>mid-ladder
Who is pathetic again?
>>31703820
Can't get to high ladder without climbing through mid ladder first, my friend.
>>31703804
This. I was playing sash offense the other day and some loser tried to set up rocks with his Garchomp on my Mega Diancie because he thought I would switch.
When I dropped him with a Moonblast he started spamming the chat with sarcastic praise for my skills. Absolutely pathetic.
>Switch in Tapu Fini
>Opponent uses toxic
>Doesn't work
>Hit moonblast
>They toxic again
>"Misty terrain blocks status dude"
>Continue the match
>Misty terrain runs out
>Switch in Magearna
>They use toxic
Some people are just beyond help.
>>31703293
pretty much this
2 > 3 > 1 > 4 and the piles of shit that came after it
>>31703293
I feel that way every time I play Showdown.
It's not even because I lose, even if I win I still just end up feeling frustrated at my opponent for some reason. Showdown literally puts me in a bad mood every time I try to play it.
>>31704129
I don't know what it is but I played Showdown for the first time in a long time today and people are so much ruder than they used to be.
I've battled only sparingly after gen 3 but people are petty as shit. Nobody says gg when they lose, they gloat when they win, many people ragequit the first time anything mildly unlucky happens to them, and people are just generally rude. Back in the days of GSBot and RSBot this shit was the exception and not the rule.
You know how you use good Pokemon and make the smartest choices in Pokemon, but then you lose to Showderp tier teams?
I know that feel.
And this applies to singleplayer, too.
>>31703844
That was a bad play, it worked out well, but it was bad nonetheless
Every time will-o-wisp misses. Every single time.
>>31703293
>ass. vest on toxapex
>offensive toxapex
And some people say Smogon is retard-proof
>>31704185
>last Pokemon is low health Tapu Koko to opponent's Primarina
>think you're about to win
>Primarina used Aqua Jet!
Nothing matches the frustration. Nothing.
>>31704155
I honestly wish you could just disable the chat completely. Showdown players are insufferable.
>>31704185
>>31704318
>tfw lost to Torrent Greninja
why even live
>>31704256
Hows that a bad play? Predicting your opponent' move then acting based off of it is 90% of the game
>>31704185
>PlayDPP OU
>Get matched against a guy with a Skuntank
>Plow the Skuntank
>Then his Probopass
>Then he sends out Sneasel after my Dnite gets a kill
>Send out Magnezone
>Lose the speed tie and get plowed by Low Kick
>Send out Dragonite again
>Espeed
>Ice Shard moves first since Espeed wasn't +2 prio in gen4 and I forgot
>send out Kingdra
>Set up DD
>He sends out Blissey
>He starts defense curling
>Tox protects during Outrage
>Hit myself in confusion
>Proceed to lose
>>31703844
What format were you playing? Mega Diancie isn't a thing in SM, and Scarfchomp was pretty uncommon in ORAS. If it wasn't even a scarfchomp bluff your opponent was an idiot.
>>31704872
ORAS. His chomp was sashed as well. He just predicted me to switch out, fearing EQ and went for Stealth Rock.
The worst part was that he knew my team was full sash offense because he had played me earlier and I left my Diancie in on his Chomp in that game.
The idiot still didn't learn and spent the entire second game bitching in the chat like a kid.
>>31703293
>Miss
>Miss
>Get frozen
>Get crit
It hurts.
>>31704185
I tried to set up a DD Taunt Gyara sweep to win the game on some guy with what I thought was a stallbreaker Mew.
He had revealed Wisp, Taunt and Knock Off so I assumed his final move was Soft Boiled or Roost, but he randomly had Volt Switch and I ended up losing my wincon and the game.
It would have been an easy 6-0 if not for that ridiculous set.
>>31704886
Ahh, I never expect Sashchomp.
Yeah, in terms of effectively losing all/a lot of your items vs bringing a threat down to sash and preventing rocks, you made the right play either way. The guy who says otherwise doesn't know what he's talking about.
>>31704921
Exactly. The only reason Diancie was my mega was to prevent rocks from going up, which could basically be an auto loss for me.
>Teaching a friend who just got back into Pokemon the basics of battling
>He's starting to learn to make predictions, but they're all really simplistic and easy to see through
>Still only win like 50% of the time because suddenly he'll make an uncharacteristically good play and perfectly predict my switch and hit it super effectively
>Ask him what his thought process was and why he didn't use the move I expected him to
>Every time it's because he forgot that the Pokemon I had out before was weak to the move he didn't use or immune/resistant to the move he did use
