Why do coins even exist? They give you way too many, and you need to use so little. Fusions aren't expensive, and you can't use coins for anything else besides comparing you deck strength to an AI. Why not create a coin sink, where 150,000 coins = 100 gems?

When you start getting into Level 4 and 5 Fusions they get fairly expensive.

(Lv5 Fusion is pretty expensive.)
