hey guys,
i have a school project where I have to choose a game (or franchise) and analyse what it did for the ones who played it and the society itself. I chose Pokemon, because why not.
I already had some ideas in mind (like Pokemon Go and the Media around it), but maybe some of you guys have something in mind that I didn't think of.

What about original Pokémania?

You could mention some events in real life influenced by pokemon, such as
-the naming of the pikachurin protein
-the Uri Geller incident
-pokemon viewed as satanic media by religous moms
-pokemon as one of the mascots in the 2020 Olympics

I don't get it. Is it something used by pedophiles?

This was one of the first things I thought about.
Do you think the "lavender town syndrome" also counts as something that changed or influenced the society? It didn't actually happen, but I know that a lot of my friends (and me) at a younger age believed this theory.
