I quit playing SM because the games are slow and boring as hell. The side characters are annoying, the new Pokémon are few, the islands are tiny, and they just won't stop holding your hand. I also hate that the story is not focused on you but on Lillie. They're so fucking worthless and flat that they don't even have official names.
All in all, SM is nothing but an overhyped snorefest, as bad or worse than XY.

Not only are they few but the truly new Pokemon, as in the ones that aren't regional variations of Kanto Pokemon, are usually too rare.

I tried fishing for a Dhelmise and gave up at the sixth Magikarp. Kind of made me appreciate Gen V's exclusion of Pokemon from any other generation but V until after the main game.

The problem isn't that there's a few of them, that's fine seeing as Gen V and even VI managed to balance new and old, the problem is when you have the old being made a priority over the new.
I mean the majority of the SM dex is just Kanto mon.

I pretty much have them already through evolution, but my goal was to catch one of everything that's available, including evolutions, as they become available. I have Salamence, two Poliwrath (only needed one, the second was by accident), a male Politoed (need a female since it has a gender difference), and practically every other rare Pokémon you can catch pre-Elite Four.

It's weird, but I kind of think of it as a living dex of Alolan Pokémon found in the wild.
