I don't think Hypnosis freezes.

Why don't Sleep/Freeze/Poison effect any status like Burn and Paralysis do? Imagine if they did.

Sleep lowers Defense
Freeze lowers Sp.D
Poison lowers Sp.A

Add Will-o-freeze to ice types.

Hypnosis puts Pokemon to sleep and they wake up within 2-5 turns. Freeze is different than sleep which it think can last anything between 2 turns through the entire battle. Not entirely sure, barely been frozen. I think using a fire move thaws you out automatically. Again, idk

Under current Sleep mechanics, you're guaranteed to wake up after 3 turns of being Asleep even if you switched out.
Under current Freeze mechanics, you have a 51% chance of still being frozen after 3 turns, and you're still stuck with the same 20% chance to thaw out next turn. A status move that inflicts Freeze is automatically cancer if it's more accurate than an OHKO move. Even if the accuracy is contingent upon being an Ice-type. Freeze, at least how it's currently implemented, is cancer.

The point of the thread is to make things MORE cancerous, not LESS.

With that said... It would be no worse than current Protect. Nothing more stupid than doubling on an opponent that used Protect last turn, and them managing to successfully Protect again.

At least with that change you'll always assume that they can Protect and act accordingly, instead of a 50% chance fucking your whole plan.

And Sleep will always wear off after three turns. It's been that way since Gen V.
