The threads you're thinking of were thinly disguised "Pokémon Are Real" threads after mods banned those, and when mods noticed said thin disguise they banned them as well.

As much of an autismfest /qa/ is, I'm glad it exists just for helping clean up that roleplay trash.

I just looked at the one in /trash/ and I can see why they're made there. I don't remember the /vp/ ones being that bad though. But I stopped browsing here for months and only came back a few days ago.

Most of the ones on trash that I've seen seem to devolve into shitty rp.
What I liked about the pokemon world threads was that it was less of that and more "posting on poke-world 4chan", if that makes any sense.

When they were on /vp/ they had to try and keep themselves to a certain, albeit still low, standard, to try and avoid attention from the mods. On /trash/, they don't have to worry about getting deleted, so they can unleash the full extent of their autism. Back in the old days when /vp/ was a modless hellhole it was just as bad, pic related.
