It's some random Sunday and it's been a while, so here's your fun update Sage Sunday!
We've been moving on to post 2.0 content in a lot of areas. The programmers just finished the Andante Gym implementation , which is where Demo 2.0 will end. There's a lot of minor fixes and bugtesting that will go into that before we're good to go, but as always, it should be ready soon™.

Pictured is the Andante Train Station, which connects Dronia, Andante, Vivace, and Ossia together (see the map in the upper right of the image).

Here's pretty much the only draft for Route 13. Once this was made, everyone pretty much accepted it as the base. We'll be adding dive spots in and probably minorly shaping the layout.

Here's the Route 11 Gatehouse. The Bike Shop is conveniently located next to the Cycling Road. You'll get a Bike Voucher after beating the third gym, which will let you take the road to Andante.

This is absolutely there best one if you're going for a Vegas feel. The scummy dingy outer city right outside it is perfect for that "We didn't want to spend money on a Vegas hotel so we got a room at that shitty motel six and the drug dealers fighting next door are keeping me up at 6am" feel.

I also really like the idea of the "strip" being physically deeper than the rest of it like in the previous one, but the big black hole in the middle of the town isn't a great way of doing that.

This shit is Vivace right here. This has that Vegas feel to it while also maintaining the overall theme of the city. It also meshes well with Oscar's character as the Dark-type Gym Leader: flashy on the outside but dark and dingy the deeper you go.

I also love that you have the casinos and neon-lit buildings for the first level but the bottom layer is lit by mushrooms as was part of the original city design.

Well let's break down why someone might build a city in a cave.

Maybe the people were outcasts who settled there and were hiding from people?
Maybe, it being basicaly Pokemon Vegas, it was founded by people who wanted to hide their illicit trades.
Maybe it's in a cave because the surrounding land wasn't opportune for a city, being near a swamp and all.
Maybe it being near a swamp the people settled the first safe place they could find away from the disease of living near a swamp.

That's fucking rad. The A forming is fantastic, but the spiky circle forming looks a bit choppy in comparison, maybe add a small amount of motion blur like you did with the A. I'm also assuming the trainer portrait/name will show up a bit longer in the final version, this one is a bit too short to really get a good look at it.
Still, fucking ace, good job guys. I'm assuming the logo also shows up for grunts?

Admin 3 probably fits the 'corrupt oil tycoon' idea best, even tho I'm not a big fan of this particular design. Design-wise admin 2 is probably my favorite.
Just make sure whatever the final design is, give him a big fat cigar, that detail is a perfect fit for both a business tycoon and a subtle link to Erion's smoke.

I really like it conceptually, compared to the others. Honestly, the two that put the city on a two-tier kind of system are my favorites. I just like that one more.

Working from least favorite up, the first design posted >>31676228 feels kind of... bland? I think that's the word I want.The fourth one, lower right is probably my favorite of the base. I guess the way I see it is that if someone gave me the concept, that is the most literal, generic design I could think of to go with it. There's not all that much wrong with it for me, but nothing about it makes me think "I like that one".

Has a lot of the same problems as the first one, I think. Again, it feels too generic based on the concept. I feel like the "literal corrupt cigar comping CEO" thing is done to death (not that Pokemon has never put out a generic character design). The thing that makes it rise above the first design though is that it does stand out a bit more. I feel like the first design is like the "alpha" and this one is the more finalized design of the same character. I really like his seemingly oil-stained pants, but also feel like it's a little on the nose.

The deigns that have the purple hair thing look great, and I think it should be incorporated into the others if possible, imo. It's such a small, little detail, but holy shit, in my opinion, it makes a world of difference. It makes the whole character more unique and stand out. Looking at that design, it's the only one that currently really makes me think "Yeah, that's a pokemon villain".
