Is it generally faster/better to not grind and even avoid battles for as long as possible, only stopping to grind when you can't move forward so that you are gaining the most experience per fight and thus less fights=less time? Or does it not make much of a difference if you sit around and fight plenty of battles at each stage of the game?
it's best to fight trainers as soon as you meet them so you earn money to buy clothing more quickly

All trainers in SuMo have one mon you can one-shot. Takes like 10 seconds a battle.

im playing x/y but i take it trainers should be fought. but what about walking back and forth grinding vs the wild pokemon?
never ask 4chan anything unless it involves memes and shitposting

If you need to actively grind then you're probably doing something wrong. Never skip trainers though, that's just like intentionally missing out on content.

Are you using exp share? If so you can just fight everyone and you'll be fine. If not then you'll need to grind a bit to make sure your party is close in level in addition to fighting everyone. They put trainers there for a reason.
