Elgyem and Beheeyem get Steel Wing because in gen 5 TM51 was Ally Switch, but in gen 6 it's Steel Wing, and they never changed it, maybe because it's a reference to Area 51, but I somehow doubt that.
Does they both still get it in gen 7 or have they changed that?

Don't get me wrong they make the game much more interesting but just why did they think they needed them in the first place
A lot of them exist simply to justify the Pokemon's design being the way it is (ex: Flygon with Levitate or Shedinja with Wonder Guard) even though they seem to have originally been designed to just be an extra boost for elemental types.
Maybe they should make it so you can change your Pokemon's abilities at will, and give each Pokemon a much wider range to choose from.
