- Anabel
- Wally
- Cynthia
- Grimsley
- Colress

- Mallow (Moon only)
- Guzma (Moon only)
- Plumeria (Sun only)

By this alone the Battle Tree is harder than the Battle Maison.

At least it was the 10th battle. Everybody knowns that in the Battle Subway/Maison/Tree you MUST lead with something bulky like Mega Gyarados or Dragonite. Also Smogon has a thread about some users' streak and their teams in each facility (some people also surpass the 1000 streaks)

Every time I've lose at the Battle Tree and had to start over again, the AI still throws the same pokemon that beat me in my previous attempt. I use a different team for the first 5-10 battles to get around this.

In fairness, isn't Cynthia's the Choice Scarf Garchomp? I remember that causing me problems when I first fought it, since my counter was Tapu Koko.
Luckily the AI is easy to bait into resisted moves on the switch.

I'm not too familiar with the competitive scene, but I'm honestly surprised. Chomp is her ace, and without a doubt the one with the highest BST of the 3, only 25 points behind M-Lucario. Why wouldn't she have a mega stone on it?

Every pokémon on the old characters team that can mega evolve has a set with a megastone. The game just pick randomly which mega will be used.

Red has all Kanto starter megas, Blue has Pidgeot, Gyarados, Aerodactyl and Tyranitar, but they'll only use one mega.
