The music, chicken-chan, most of the new pokemon and most of the NPCs. Battle Tree has been alot of fun too.

I, too, welcome the invasion of the waifus. People were complaining about how SM was pandering to little kids too much but, you can't really say the waifus were for the kids. You can tell GF was thinking of us.

Alolan forms were my favorite - a really nice way to get people to use old mons.

I genuinely really enjoyed the story and the characters. I don't think I've ever been able to actually remember each major character in a pokemon game.The humor was also pretty on point.

I appreciated the games aesthetics more than I thought. I wasn't sure how I felt with them steadily moving away from chibi sprites, but I ended up loving the way the world and NPCs looked on-model.

Game difficulty actually felt challenging at times during the story. Of course that was probably because I had the battle style on set and the last game I played was X

No HMs

The fact that people actually acknowledged you were champion in the post-game. Half an hour ending cutscene aside, it was cool seeing it presented as being a big deal.
