Well, because I also listen to music, stream videos etc. while running Go in the background with with my Go Plus, I always get pings with spawns and Pokestops even while being stationary (ie; while on the shitter).

So it feels like I drift regardless if I use the Go Plus or not.

I have seen several ideas tossed around about various ways Gen2 pokemon might be introduced (won't rehash here), but I haven't seen any suggestions of a candy swap. What if they keep the same number of spawns (which will halve the perceived scarcity of each generation), but allow you to trade in candy of one pokemon for the candy of another? They would most likely have to make groupings of pokemon (ie by type or scarcity for example) and only allow candy swaps within that group to avoid swapping common candy for rare candy. This idea seems to avoid some (but not all) of the pitfalls of the other common ideas being discussed. Thoughts?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I came across this a few days ago and it has turned out to be quite handy to me.

A tiny anecdote: In my country the past weeks have been pretty cold. Not -50C Sibiria cold but we fell down to around -15C the one or other night. So most of the time I kept playing with one hand holding the smartphone and the other warming up in the pocket of my jacket until the other hand gets too cold to properly throw balls. By accident I found out that my device (Samsung Galaxy A5 2016) has a built-in "one-handed mode" that basically shrinks the screen to around 75% of the screen and gives me an arrow to make the tinier screen toggle between either left or right alignment (for left and right handed people, respectively).

After some quick searching it seems like my device is by far not the only one supporting such a feature without additional apps to be downloaded. In general newer Galaxy models (S7, my Galaxy A5 2016 and more), the Huawai P8 Lite and other devices running Android 6 (from what I can tell, but I could be wrong) offer this feature one way or the other. The tinier screen makes throwing balls with only the thumb much more comfortable so I can safely warm up my other hand until my hand holding the devices can't properly move any longer.
I found a quick tutorial on how to set it up on Samsung Galaxy S7 and it looks same as for my device so probably all Galaxy models offering it have it embedded to the same settings.

I am unfamilair with copyright law, and I was wondering if anyone actually knows if there is a way to look up the agreement, or at least make educated inferences about the agreement between Niantic and Pokemon Co.

Does Ninaitc, at least in principle, have the right to create new Pokemon? I ask for two reasons. (1) it would be cool, and (2) perhaps the reason Gen 2 is taking so long to come out is the same reason you can't binge watch Game of Thrones: the supplier wants constant traffic, and has limited supply. I know that, right now, it feels like Gen 2 is overdue, but in the long term, after years of playing, a new Gen every year would run through the available Pokemon created by the Pokemon Co. pretty quickly.

If you want to get rid of a spoofer there is a bug that can help you. This bug is more affective then reporting the person as a spoofer. All you need to do is have a few of your friends report their name as inappropriate.

There is currently a bug that doesn't let you play after a forced name change. All you have to do is have a few friends report the persons name as inappropriate. It doesn't matter what the name is... they don't check. The next time they log in, all they will see is a blank screen with no way to play. This by far is the most affective way to get rid of a player. Use this info responsibly.

In the afternoon, I found a Snorlax and a Chansey in a parking lot. I thought I'd best take my luck to the beach to see what I could find, and caught a Porygon and a Dragonaire. Was this just my lucky day, or did anyone else notice an increased rare spawn rate yesterday?

I've searched many discussions about how to proceed to get pokemon over the natural cap of 1.5 level above out current trainer level. With all guidance from fellow trainers, my best pokemon are now on Level 37 (I'm a Level 35). Triple tap never worked for me, though. I've trained with low level pokemon, to not spending a lot of dust, and have mastered the double tap art, but triple tap is not for me and my Iphone. It is known that on level 38, anyone has just a single opportunity to power up again- after this, the power up button is gone (or comes back to 200 dust / 1 candy, with no option to power up). My question is: if I proceed with the double tap strategy on Level 37, I can get Level 39 pokemon. After being promoted to Level 38, will it be possible to power up again, even if I've used that double tap strategy, or the power up button will be gone just after levelling up? Anyone with experience on this scenario?

Have you noticed any result of reporting a suspected cheater via Niantic's "report inappropriate gameplay" form?

Obviously evidence won't be "hard," as I suspect that if such a report is successful, the player's removal from the game is only evident from his or her mons being absent from local gyms. So I guess I'm looking for hard anecdotal evidence.

Reason I ask, of course, is that I suspect there's a player in my neighborhood using multiple accounts and I've reported these accounts a few times each, at this point. I'm unsure whether I should continue to report.

If you allow multiple accounts, why stop at two? Why not also get seven of your friend's accounts so you all benefit?
He's either going to sell the other account or doing it for a friend. Multiple accounts is a hair away from botting - the only difference is a living person is doing work for you instead of a computer program.
What's the justification for it? To get more coins? To make it harder to lose coins? So someone you know can benefit? These are all arguments against bots and spoofing also.
Personally I've never given out my account or used another person's account on my phone, but I'd be okay with someone using a friend's account for a Lapras or their kid's account for some pokestops, but when you inconvenience other people who play the game fairly, out of laziness, lack of integrity, or pure disregard for contractual agreements, YOU ARE CHEATING. End of discussion.

He has a few key points that we should keep in mind... maybe it really isn't all Niantic's fault, and if it were not I'd feel really bad for all the flack people (including me) have given them. Halting the release of new features or new Pokemon for liability seems pretty stupid on the Pokemon Company's part, because honestly only the media/irrational people would blame a game for someone misusing it and getting a car wreck. It's not like Facebook or Apple gets flack for people that get in wrecks while DMing or texting. Let's just hope they've resolved or are resolving the issue so that they can get back on top of things.

I'm walking Chancey now. Up to 70 candies and still worried that for something as tanky as blissey they may choose to require 100 candies or more to evolve and then you'll still want more to power her up.

No idea why some of you guys seem so confident 50 is the number. We've seen a range in this game from 12 to 400 candies to evolve various Pokémon so it's really anyone's guess what the candy number will be.

But remember, Niantic wants people walking and grinding as long as possible so I suspect there will be very few gen 2 Pokémon you'll just be able to click "evolve" on day 1 and be done. Some are going to need candy plus finding evolution items, others probably will require a ton of candy. That's my guess of how Niantic might slow down the game to the pace to match their own slow pace of updates going forward. If they make the candy number high enough on these gen 1 to 2 evolves, they could become among the hardest, not the easiest to get.

It is, but people always try to explain things how they hope for them to be. Everyone wants the game to be better, Niantic is making the game, so people are gonna try to find ways to explain how Ninatic is not directly responsible.

Movesets are the most important thing for attacking
CP (in which IVs are tied in with) are also important for attacking, but the most important thing for defending. Defending moves literally do not matter as you have no choice if that spoofer wants to take your gym down.
