How the fuck does Global Link work

I register and I sign in but nothing happens

I know it knows me as registered, because if I put in the wrong username/password, it tells me so.

I'm in the profile and it says "You're all Set Up" and it has a button to go to the Global Link, and I click it, and bam, not fucking logged in. It refuses to let me login.

Whats a good swift swimmer to use as a replacement for kingdra? I don't have anyone to trade with so I can't evolve my seadra.
