Useless as fuck when it gets 2HKO by any fire type regardless (it's SE against bug).

I ran it in the Alola Friendly, but unless it was under my ninetales' aurora veil and in a aqua ring while holding leftovers and spamming leech life, it didn't fly very far.

It kinda makes sense actually. Water is normally associated with special attacks, and diving bell spiders normally cover themselves in bubbles. If this was introduced before Gen 4, it would make allot of sense that it would easily shrug off Water attacks. Similar to how Regice has colossal special defense to reflect its dex entry describing it's body being "unable to be melted from heat"

All Punching moves hit 4 times at x.5 damage. Seems a little underpowered, but realize that it gives moves like Ice Punch 4 chances to freeze, Thunder Punch 4 chances to paralyze, PuP Punch +4 ATK, etc.

Plus, it gives him a really powerful attack in Focus Punch with an effective 300BP, also a great recovery move in Drain Punch at 150BP.

Yeah Water Bubble is a fucking broken ability, a shining example of ability creep. Contrast to gen 3 Abilities, gen 3 Araquanid would probably have Water Veil or something else totally irrelevant.

Even though Water Bubble is borked, it's pretty balanced on Araquanid, it makes it powerful and it also it's defining trait.

Know true fear if Water Bubble stops becoming an exclusive ability and can be obtained on a Water type with 70+ of either attacking stat.

They didn't put it on a Pokemon with great stats, and the name of the ability makes it so that it thematically makes sense ONLY on this Pokemon's family, because there are no other Pokemon with a water bubble around their head. It would be a problem if they started handing it out to other Pokemon as a hidden ability or something, but I think they're only going to give it to Dewpider and Araquanid.

In reality, Desolate Land is the only super busted and broken one. You wouldnt be using Fire moves against P-Kyogre, anyway, and Mega Fug can still be wrecked by Dragon and Fairy Moves, which are pretty common in AG or whereever I would Imagine Fug is being used.
Desolate Land turns a quad weakness into an immunity, effectively nullifies resistances to Fire, and anything with Flash Fire is weak to EQ/Precipice Blades, which P-Don will ALWAYS run one of, no question.
