I remember learning about the people on bikes/motorcycles going faster when you run. It's excellent design imo, punishing people that are rushing through and ignoring all the trainers, adding a little difficulty. No you don't, you just need SoundHax/Homebrew Launcher and TWLSaveTool. You can make a backup of your DS save, edit it on your PC, put it back on your SD Card and restore it to the game. No need for CFW.

(Note: You need either Pokemon Bank with Poke Transporter downloaded OR something called 'Pokemon Dream Radar' to use TWLSaveTool)

You can get into the Safari Zone in Yellow even if you don't have enough money. The man at the gate gives you a number of Safari Balls proportional to how much money you have left.

If you have no money at all, he refuses to let you past. Continually attempting to get past him will result in him becoming increasingly angrier, until he eventually gives up, gives you one Safari Ball, and lets you in for free.
