Honestly, at that point, there's really no point in doing it over breeding, much less injecting, but if you're doing it for bragging rights...

It should be noted that this apparently only works on english versions of the game. In my German version, I got an item named S7 instead of F8, I tried performing the glitch with it, but all it did was reset the text speed to 2.

Virtual console mew needs to have the OT name GF and a specific date as your trainer ID.

Only gift pokemon from Game Freak can get through transporter, so you have to hack your game to give it that ID.

Weird that game freak thought they could just ban glitch mew and nobody would do anything! Red and blue are famous for glitches, so hackers just found another glitch to get round it.

Now people can get a shiny Mew, instead of just regular glitch Mew.

I did this last night. It took several hours, but mostly because I forgot to get the PP UPs and the Parasect. Also the part where I accidentally my Rare Candies and then glitched my entire bag. I was able to fix it though.

Make sure you have no items you need in your bag before you get 255 of something, it'll all get fugged.

Things get all screwy when you have a stack of 255 of something. The stacks multiply when something gets removed from your item list, but the size of your item list still decreases. The process of getting 8F makes all your items unreachable, and they'll be lost if you don't PC them before fixing your bag. I accidentally got my Rare Candy stuck under the X Specials and couldn't reach them to put in the PC after getting 8F.
