Remember the Battle Tree is supposed to challenge your prowress and ability to cope with bad RNG and be able to win with what you have. If you have "shitmons" you won't get far in the tree, you can play with them later online but at least use some one or two OP pokes.

If you have too many mons of a specific type/weakness the Battle Tree will spam your counters. Started getting constant battles with Ferrothorn.
Do you have items for all your mons? Spamming/losing Battle Royale is decent for BP or you can use smogon cookiecutter OP team.

Apparently the Tree is much more relentless than the Maison and Subway. The latter two facilities have NFE mons in the early rounds of the normal modes, but I'm not sure about the Tree.

I should really build my teams around not getting wrecked by Mamoswine. Also fuck sleep-inducing moves, had an Espeon yawn-protect-dream eater my team and of course my Mega Gyarados was already knocked out beforehand.

Keep at it OP. Once you can afford some Mega Stones it becomes a lot easier. Beating Red in normal singles gets you all the Kanto Starter Megas and X-Zard helped get me my 50 Super Singles streak.

My constant was Escavalier. But I diserved it, using my mono rock team. Evidently the ideal team is based around a poison / dragon / fairy core, but I find a flying / grass / ground core works pretty well too. Having an ability that 100% negates an attack type helps too, Storm Drain in an all-rock team made the RNG just *not* use water attacks.
