It's not an official art cover, it was done by my redrawer, Cobalon, who does it as a hobby. It was meant to be a "sorry for taking so long with the release."

It honestly looks better than Yamamoto's current colorings if you've seen them. It's also definitely better than VIZ's colorings as Yamamoto (the artist of Spe) always tweets about the coloring job that they did.

I think Kusaka wrote in the first artbook (that got translated and sold in 2016) that he explored romance with Gold and Crystal but decided to make a dedicated arc for the romance concept in RS because he had no experience with it and decided it'd be best to have a fresh start rather than shoehorning it in.

It proved to be popular and he tried again in DP when Dia first meets Platinum, but ultimately I think it becomes mutual respect and they're literally the youngest of the Dexholders when they first started out.

BW is arguable, I think it was mutual like Red x Misty, it just depends if they'll ever pop the question when he finally gets out of the Light Stone.

B2W2 literally killed the manga form of Tranceivershipping in the first 2-3 pages of the first chapter by having Lack-Two dump her and only dated her to see if she had ties with Team Plasma.

In XY, they're basically married. Y's been waiting all this time for X and he finally is almost back to normal by the end the finale and she looks like she's simply just waiting on his terms to confess or something.

For Sun and Moon, I'd prefer no shipping simply because I don't understand why people would ship a guy with cat face syndrome. SM might be a super long manga so I'd rather focus on the plot than waste time on panels to include some ship tease.
