Unskippipable, numerous cutscenes. It wouldn't be so bad if they were skippable, but they're not.

Even with 300 Pokemon in the Dex, the distribution sucks with way too many 1-5% encounter rates, and a ton of pokemon relegated to postgame. But then we have Fearow, Faticate, Pelipper/Wingul and Yungoos on every fucking route

Literally the worst bottom screen of any DS game ever. It's literally just the Town Map, and a shortcut to the Pokedex.

Poke Pelago is great, especially when you get it going, which doesn't take very long. Has bar none, the best berry growing method and you can passively EV train up to 18 pokemon.

Cons: SOS encounters, THEY NERFED THE VENDING MACHINE DRINKS WHY THE FUCK, Plumeria and Gladion both felt like they should have had more. Bad fashion choices for both genders. Guzma should have had more pokemon. Everything else mentioned so far.

Pros: Champ fight wasn't too bad, it actually showed an inkling of strategy for once. Pokemon don't gain levels in daycare. Z-Crystals affecting non-damaging moves. Everything Team Skull. Everything else mentioned so far.

Give them a team with good offensive/defensive synergy, maybe with a gimmick (TR/ Hazards combined with Phazing/Stall/Weather abuse etc)

Huge improvements for breeding in general, with the introduction of an actual way to see IVs, plus SOS battle to guarantee 4 perfect IVs and an HA at the start, dramatically cutting down on breeding time.

Con: once you have the newly hatched pokemon with great IVs, HA, and nature, there's no fucking way to farm XP effectively.

Too much Kanto wank. Shouldn't be referencing the other games regions nearly as much as S/M did, but they also both weren't subtle and were way too disproportionately about Kanto. I know it'll always get particular focus, but probably 3/4 of references to other games in S/M are Kanto, which is crazy.
